The Challenge
RTL+ needed a way to curate content across video, audio, and editorial formats into cohesive thematic experiences. These collections had to work across multiple product areas while balancing different stakeholder needs and content priorities.
At the same time, it was unclear where these worlds should live within the platform and how users would discover and navigate them.
The Solution
We designed a flexible concept for thematic worlds as curated content containers that bring together multiple media types within a single experience. Each world was treated as a distinct entity with its own visual identity.
The first iteration introduced thematic worlds within search as a lightweight entry point. In a second step, they were expanded into a dedicated overview page, creating a clearer structure and enabling broader integration across the platform.
